GRADE 12 MAJOR MOVIE PROJECT

One of the highlights of the year is the Major Movie Project. This project involves the Literary English 40S and Digital Video Production (Advanced Software Applications 41G) classes.The movie is entirely student made, from the story, script acting, editing and premiere. So far 2 movies have been made. The initial production was "A Not So Scary Movie" in 2000/01. After a year hiatus, another movie was prduced called "Rock On!". In 2002/03, Boissevain School was honoured as an Apple Success Story, partly due to the movie project. The school was featured on the Apple Canada web site and in the November/December issue of TEACH magazine. In 2003, Boissevain School was proud to become a member of Industry Canada's Network of Innovative Schools (NIS), innovative projects such as Connections and the Movie project helped secure our membership. Again, partly due to the innovative use of ICT, including the Grade 12 movie project, Boissevain School was named as one of Canada's Top 30 High Schools by Maclean's Magazine in August 2005! This year's movie had a Western theme. Titled "How the Southwest was Won". The movie premiere went back to the school gym and was a great success. The premiere featured the inaguaral use of our new full size screen purchased from the Boissevain Community Theatre! 2004/05 Movie Project: Overdue! The school is competing for a grant...somehow the students are locked in...students are being picked off by the Bronco mascot! ... all is not what it seems! Filming of 'Overdue'. 2003/04 Movie Project: Thomas' Adventure Thomas' Adventure - the story of poor Thomas who is having a bad - but interesting - day is now complete. The premiere was held June 3 and was a great success. 2002/03 Movie Project: Rock On! Rock On! - the Candian Curling Team is kidnapped by ... Yeti? Why? Who can save them? Who will take their place? 2001/02 Movie Project: A Not So Scary Movie Our first full length feature and the start of ASALit Films. The top Grad will recieve a 1 Million dollar scholarship, but the candidates are being killed off! Who is behind it?
