Our Recycling Program at Boissevain School was created in 1998, and has received a Green School Initiative Grant for the 2009 school year. The grant is to be used to enhance the recycling program by replacing collection buckets.
The project is made up of grade three and four students, as well as many volunteer parents, and is run by three teachers in our school. This project has been very successful in our community and has allowed our students to be more responsible for doing their part in keeping our environment clean.
The items we recycle consist of juice boxes, milk cartons, and pop and juice cans. These items are cleaned, squashed, sorted, and then transported to our town Recycling Depot.
