Boissevain School is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 facility located in Canada’s most beautiful town, Boissevain. Guided by Principal, Mr. Brad White and Vice Principal, Mrs. Colleen Sambrook-Adams, our school combines a first rate staff with an enthusiastic 380 member student body. Boissevain students are recognized for their achievements in academics, athletics, band, drama and community involvement. Boissevain School's reputation for excellence and innovation is growing. Some of our achievements are listed below. Boissevain School is proud of its over 100 years of service to Boissevain and surrounding area.

Boissevain School strives to keep nut & fish products off the grounds for the health & safety of some of our staff & students with severe allergies. Please DO NOT bring these products into our school ! Thank you!

Boissevain School operates on a full year system for K - grade 8 and a 25/75 full year/semester system for Grades 9 - 12.

Boissevain School is organized into three areas:

Early Years consists of students in grades K to 4. Homeroom teachers instruct their classes in the core subjects and specialists teach students music and physical education. Middle Years encompasses grades 5 to 8. As in early years, homeroom teachers provide core subject instruction. French, physical education, music, band, industrial arts and home economics are delivered by specialists. Grades 9 - 12 classes comprise our Senior High. Courses are departmentalized with specialists providing instruction in all subjects.

Boissevain School is guided by the School Plan. The plan was devised by a committee of administration, staff and parents. One of the major goals of the plan is community involvement and communication.

Some of our achievements & awards:

  • Invovled in a successful "School, Family and Community" pilot project with Manitoba Education ending in 200/01. (click for more info)
  • In cooperation with Killarney School a proposal is submitted and a grant of $50,000 for ICT is awarded by Manitoba Education in 2001.
  • Featured on the Apple Canada web site and in TEACH magazine as an APPLE SUCCESS STORY in 2002 for innovations in technology, including the grade 12 movie project. The article was reprinted in the MANACE jornal.
  • Accepted as a member of Industry Canada's Network of Innovative Schools in 2003. This included $30,000 over two years for ICT projects. (click for more info).
  • Grade 12 Movie project earned an "Honourable Mention" in the "Excellence in Technology Contest" sponsored by Thomas Nelson Publishers in 2004.
  • Named by Maclean's Magazine as one of Canada's Best 30 High Schools in 2005.
